“Dakka Marrakesh” (“Marrakesh beat”) is the first solo exhibition in the UK of photographs by the British-based Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj.

In his colourful and bold works, Hajjaj playfully questions stereotypes, using fashion accessories by big-name brands to subvert traditional Moroccan dress.

Hajjaj poses friends, Gnawa musicians and local characters from Marrakesh in theatrical narratives that draw on his Moroccan childhood and later experience of the international fashion industry.
