FAR NEAR DISTANCE: CONTEMPORARY POSITIONS OF IRANIAN ARTISTS (2004)

Edited by Martin Hager, Shaheen Merali
With two essays by Rose Issa

Published to coincide with the ‘Far Near Distance’ project at the House of World Cultures in Berlin, 2004, curated by Rose Issa. This major inter-disciplinary project was the first to introduce a German audience to artists, curators, academics, scientists, film-makers, actors, writers and theatre producers of Iranian origin. Whether from Tehran or diaspora communities in the US, London and Paris, all were invited to show how art and life in Iran are linked together, creating the unique visual energy of the region.
